Cleo Turner McBride

Mrs. Cleo Turner McBride, 82 of Winston-Salem passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County on May 6, 1926 to the late Calvin Howard and Minnie Sheets Turner. Mrs. McBride was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church. She was a charter member and helped establish Forsyth County Genealogical Society in 1982, serving as treasurer for 20 years. She was instrumental in publishing journals and transcribing Census Reports. Mrs. McBride was preceded in death by her husband, William Marshall McBride whom she married on January 27, 1951. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Perry Lee Turner and Hubert H. Turner. She is survived by her nephew, Perry L. Turner, Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Clemmons and two god-sons, Joseph Henry Weathers and his wife Amy of Columbia Falls, Montana and Samuel Thomas Dixon and his wife Suzanne of Denver, NC as well as several other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Ray Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
