Cleo Holt

STOKESDALE – Cleo Herman Holt passed away at his home early Wednesday morning, December 9, 2020. We are thankful that we were blessed to have him with us for 94 years. Cleo was the second son born to Tom and Frances Frazier Holt on August 12, 1926 in Guilford County.

Cleo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone.  He was selfless in pouring his life into his church, family, friends, and neighbors. He always stood strong in his faith and praised Him in his daily walk.

In addition to his parents, Cleo was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Reva Pegram Holt, who was the love of his life; and two brothers, Allen Holt and Bobby Holt.

Cleo is survived by four children, Marilyn Payne (John), Sandy Westmoreland (Allen), Tommy Holt (Karen), and C.H. Holt (Wanda); 10 grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Jacob, John David, Kyle, Matthew, Spencer, William, Jessica, and Tori; 10 great grandchildren, Ethan, Eliana, Isaac, Wyatt, Hunter, Karleigh, Maggie Jayne, Anna, Mack and Luke; as well as a host of family, friends, and caregivers whom he loved.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Freeman officiating. Due to public restrictions, there will be no formal visitation, but friends may come and view Cleo, as well as to sign the register, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a monetary donation to Smith Grove Baptist Church, 2707 Sandy Ridge Road, Colfax, NC 27235.
