Cleo George Baity, 70 of Winston-Salem , died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center . Mrs. Baity was born January 24, 1940 in Forsyth County , a daughter of the late Moir Odell George and Esther Louise Klutz George who survives of Winston-Salem . Mrs. Baity was a graduate of James A. Gray high School and was the first secretary of the Clemmons Fire Department. She was affectionate ly known as ""Mama Cleo"" by all the firefighters. She loved and was very active in Clemmons United Methodist Church for nearly 40 years. She served with the Stephens Ministry and attended the Crusaders Sunday School Class. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Baity; daughter, Susan Horton and husband Marshall; sons, David Baity and wife Eileen, and Steven Baity and special friend Beth Crumpler; grandchildren, Zach Horton, Bryan Horton, Nick Baity, Jennifer Baity, Travis Baity and Katelyn ""KK"" Baity; brother, Clyde George and wife Pat; niece, Amy Berry and husband Jason; great nephew, Jesse Berry; great niece, Emma Berry and sister-in-law Bobbie George. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Clemmons United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Thore and Rev. Mark Portis officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel, Advance/Clemmons.
