Mr. Clayborn Grant Parrish, 67, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his home. He was born September 19, 1945 in Forsyth County to Cecil Elwood and Amanda James Parrish. Mr. Parrish was a self employed painter. He was a loving husband and father. Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his sister Joann Hunt; a brother Billy Parrish; a half brother Webb Hendrix, and a half sister Sadie Lashmit. Surviving is his wife Linda Gaye Golding Parrish of the home; a son Greg Parrish of Clemmons ; a grandson Austin Parrish; a great nephew Christopher Cox of the home; three brothers Robert Parrish of Winston-Salem, James Parrish of King, and Nathan Parrish (Jeanette) of Winston-Salem; a special nephew Randy Parrish; and a special friend Shirley Jackson; as well as several other nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 3 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev Van Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday night December 2, from 6 PM until 8 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, and a special thanks to nurse Kelly Heath for all the love and care that was given. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B.
