Clay Henry Pender, Jr.

Mr. Clay Henry Pender, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2016 surrounded by his family and special friend and caregiver, Gloria Davidson. Clay was born on June 6, 1928 to Clay and Violet Pender, Sr. He retired from Clay's Gas and Service Station on Bodenhamer Street where he was owner and operator for over 20 years. In addition to his parents, Clay was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Linville Pender; sister, Julia Mae; and two brothers, James and Donnie. He is survived by three children, Ava Warren, Richard Pender (Ramona), and Janice Robbins (Bud); seven grandchildren, Tracie, Pete, Brian, Jon, David, Tyler, and Austin; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Neal and Barbara Ramey; two brothers, Arnold and Phillip Pender; seven nieces and one nephew; and a very special friend and caregiver, Gloria Davidson. A funeral service for Clay will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Kernersville Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Duane Peterson officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
