Mr. Clay Roosevelt Beeson, Sr., 78, of Clemmons died Wednesday, October 23, 2008. He was born November 4, 1929 in Forsyth County to Hugh R. and Bertha B. Beeson. Clay retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 37 years of service as Supervisor of #64 Case and Drying and Pony Express after 5 years of service. He was a 50 year member of The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #466 in Winston-Salem. Clay always enjoyed his hours during the day visiting with friends at the Clemmons Waffle House, and his best friend Richard LaRue at the Sudz Shoppe Car Wash in Clemmons. Clay lived at the Western Villa Apartments for 28 years with his friends and owners Doug and Norma Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents. Clay is survived by his two sons, Clay R. Beeson, Jr. (June) of Clemmons and Randy D. Beeson (Cindy) of Chesterfield, VA and one daughter Lynne C. Enneking (David) of Yorktown, VA; six grandchildren, Angela Beeson Benner, Tammy Beeson Moore, Bradley Beeson, Brian Beeson, Michael Enneking, and Kimberly Enneking; two great grandchildren, Zackary Ryan Moore and Camrynn Alexa Benner; two sisters, Betty Sue Smith and JoAnn Miller both of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews and former wife and friend, Barbara H. Lawson of Grafton, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 uintil 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Tracy Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem.
