Claudia Simpson Lunsford

Mrs. Claudia Simpson Lunsford, 91, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 and rejoined her beloved husband of 72 years, Marvin Carl Lunsford, in heaven.

Claudia was born November 8, 1923 in Forsyth County to Mark Bernard Simpson and Lillie Bunn Simpson. She was a devoted and active member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cross-stitching and cooking for her family. In addition to her husband, Claudia was preceded in death by her son, Marvin (Bud) Lunsford, Jr., grandson, James Lunsford, daughters-in-law, Janet Lunsford and Elizabeth (Lib) Lunsford, son-in-law, Joseph Davis, and sister, Hazel Frazier.

Claudia is survived by her son, Jack Lunsford of Chesterfield, VA; daughter, Sherry Davis of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Jeff Lunsford, Jennifer Keller and husband Pat, John Lunsford and wife Kristin, Rory Davis and Ross Davis; and great-grandchildren, Campbell Lunsford, Sydney Keller, and Nathan Keller; brother, Mark Simpson and wife Shirley; and sister, Jean Phillips.

A celebration of Claudia's life will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2PM at Union Ridge United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
