Claries Wiggins

Clarice Gay Waddell Wiggins passed away on December 8, 2022, after a long illness. She was born in Cowpens, SC, to the late Nettie Cash Waddell and Ben Junior Waddell.

Gay is survived by her husband, Kenneth "Ken" C. Wiggins; and son, Charles "Chuck" Lawson of the home; two granddaughters, Charlotte (Ritchie) and Cheyenne (Andy) Lawson of SC; "adopted" granddaughters, Crystal Bigsby and Amanda Shumate of Knoxville, TN; two brothers, Joe "Wayne" (Kathy) and Randy "Lynn" (Sue) Waddell, both of Winston-Salem; one nephew, Rodney Waddell (Tracy) of Summerfield; 2 nieces, Tina Kilci (Murat) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Renee Waddell of Winston-Salem; as well as several grand nieces and nephews.

Gay was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Jackie Dean Waddell.

Gay loved planting flowers and watching them grow into something beautiful, but her first hobby of love was providing food and care for homeless animals. For many years she made 2 trips a day to feed animals at a place where she knew there were several animals with no home

There will be a brief service and visitation 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

Gay requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to help feed the animals to the Forsyth County Humane Society, 5570 Sturmer Park Circle, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
