Clarence Eugene 'Bill' McKnight

Winston-SalemMr. Clarence Eugene ""Bill"" McKnight, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 9, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Joseph and Sarah Shutt McKnight. Mr. McKnight was a member of Ketner's Church of Christ and he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Macon during the Korean Conflict. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 31 years of service. Mr. McKnight enjoyed hunting and woodcarving. Preceding him in death were his brothers, Joseph, Robert, and Paul; sisters, Mary, Helen, Bessie, and Irene. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Peggy Tally McKnight; son, Randy Lee McKnight and wife, Denise of Lewisville; three daughters, Cindy Lu Mann and husband, Rick of King, Connie Sue Mathis of East Bend, and Bonnie Aleta Richardson and husband, Jerry of Germanton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Nancy Williams and husband J.B. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Mr. Jerry Williams and Mr. Ray Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. On line condolences may be made to the family at www.hayworth-miller.com.
