Clarence Marvin Mabe, Sr.

Walkertown-- Mr. Clarence Marvin Mabe, Sr., 90, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather went home to be with the Lord May 15, 2010, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Mabe was born in Kernersville to the late William S. and Mintora Mabe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Mabe and Gladys M. Parker. Clarence was a WWII Army veteran and was retired from Western Electric. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and loved to golf and work in the garden. Survivors include his wife Berlie Isley Mabe of the home; a son Clarence ""Buster"" Mabe, Jr. and wife Cindy; a daughter Donna ""Dinky"" Loomis and husband Phillip all of Walkertown; five grandchildren, Brett Mabe and wife Susan of Apex, Jana Mabe of Kernersville, Lori Livingston and husband Eric, Danielle Mabe, and Chad Mabe all of Walkertown; two great grandchildren, Adrienne Livingston and Sarah Mabe; four sisters, Janie Bowman (Vestal) of Brown Summit, Lucille Bowman, Linda Cable (George) all of Greensboro, Faye Burke (Dan) of Bear Creek; two brothers, James Mabe (Elaine), Ray Mabe (Betty) all of Brown Summit; one brother-in-law, William McCormick of Gibsonville. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 PM Monday, May 17, 2010, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sears and Dr. Stieber and their staff at Forsyth Oncology and to the precious staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center for the loving and compassionate care shown to our family.
