Clarence Leon Cook

WALKERTOWN - Mr. Clarence Leon Cook, 81, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home. Clarence was born on January 22, 1932 in Avery County to the late Dennis Conard and Ollie Stansbury Cook. Clarence was very proud to have retired from Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation after 35 years of service. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Jones, Mildred Crawford and Betty Estep; one brother, Dennis Cook; and one grandson, Jason Cook. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Cook, of the home; two sons, Gary Cook of Tampa, FL and Mike (Annette) Cook of Kernersville; two grandsons, Jarrett and Alex Cook; one granddaughter, Sierra Cook; one brother, Doyle (Margaret) Cook of Jonesboro, TN; and one sister, Eula Jones of Banner Elk. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 26, at the funeral home.
