Clarence "Red" Coleman

Clarence "Red" Coleman, 78, of Winston-Salem, NC, joined the Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at his home.

He meets his beloved mother; his brother, Johnny Lee; and his son, Andre "Alfie". He was, by his own admission, a "beautiful baby" born in St. Petersburg, FL, the oldest of seven children born to Mary Gilbert.

A hard worker who loved to dress, there was not a job that he would turn away from. He brought this talent to New York where he lived and married his cherished wife, Patricia. He retired from Bristol-Meyers after 30 years and happily left the central N.Y. snow behind for the warmth and sunshine that he loved. Never one to sit still, he worked for anyone who needed him, painting or plumbing, often singing or dancing, and ready with a joke to make people laugh. He was always genuinely interested in what others had to say and loved hearing their stories; he would be ready to reciprocate with one of his own that was full of wisdom. He could and would talk to anyone, and talk he did, but especially if he found a fellow Dallas Cowboys fan.

Clarence will be missed by his wife, Patricia; his son, Clarence; and his daughter, Val. He also leaves behind his sisters, Valencia, Linda (Sam), Janet, and Marilyn (Cornell); and his brother, Willie; as well as a large extended family; and too many friends to count.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00PM, Friday, November 15, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Minister Cornel Denson and Minister Sam Cornell officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 12:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, call someone you love, and as he always did, end the conversation with, "I love you".
