Clarence Butch Allen

Mr. Clarence ""Butch"" Allen, 86, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born October 2, 1922 in Forsyth County to William Arthur and Bessie McCoin Allen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and was retired from the Hiatt Hotel. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; and two brothers-in-law. Surviving are his wife, Bernice Allen; one son, Kip Allen; one daughter, Kathy McDaniel and husband Kevin; two granddaughters, Katie McDaniel and Kylie McDaniel; three sisters-in-law, Gloria Long, Barbara McMillan and Mary Allen. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 21 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Pastor Gene Woolard officiating. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Saturday from 10:45-11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shattalon Church of Christ, 5560 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
