Clara Bell Johnson Williams

Mrs. Clara Bell Johnson Williams, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday afternoon, June 14, 2013. Clara was born July 25, 1932 in Morganton, NC to the late Guy and Connie Johnson. She was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church and the Silent Class for 52 years. She married the love of her life, Bono, on April 17, 1953. Clara retired as an inspector from Hanes Hosiery. Clara and her twin sister became deaf as children after coming down with whooping cough. The first thing Clara heard with her renewed body was the voice of her Savior calling her home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Albert Bono Williams, her grandson, Aaron Williams and a brother, Gilbert Johnson. She is survived by her two sons (who were her life), Thyra Williams and wife Vicky and Mark Williams and fiancé Pam Price, her grandchildren, Jeremy Williams, Allison Motsinger and husband Daniel and Angel Williams, by three sisters, her twin sister, Nell Fletcher (Albert), Lula Mae Hudson and Brenda Honeycutt, her brother, Ralph Johnson (Helen) and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Clara will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 Sunday afternoon at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall and again from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, for the furthering of the Silent Class Ministry. A special thank you goes to all the ""family"" members of the Silent Class; her daughters, Kathy Hall, Claudia Crawford, Maria Crawford, Rebecca Culler and her sister and best friend, Nancy Ashley. Without their hands, she would have never heard God's Word.
