Clara Teague Miller

Lexington Clara Teague Miller was born October 28, 1932 in Wilkes County to the late John and Vettie Teague. She went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She retired from K-Mart and loved working outside as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Miller, Sr. in 2010. Surviving is her son, Arthur Miller, Jr. of the home; daughters, Shirley Sweet (Stephen) of Clemmons and Pamela Pettus (Ben) of Lexington; two grandsons, Shawn Sweet (Carrie) of Clemmons and Jason Sweet (Amy) of Lewisville; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, John Thomas, Carson, Brady, and Avery Sweet, whom she loved and spoiled; also surviving are four sisters, Elgie Lilly of Portsmouth, VA, Pauline Torrence of Chattanooga, TN, Rose Elledge of Ramseur, NC and Ginny Benton of Chesapeake, VA. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 31, 2014 at Freeman Street Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Whitaker and Pastor Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freeman Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 2311 Freeman Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
