Mrs. Clara Sutphin Harrison, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Surry County on January 25, 1925 the daughter of the late Sidney John Sutphin and Trudie Flippin Sutphin. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Mt.Olivet Methodist Church in Walkertown and had been employed by Hanes Hosiery and Adams Millis in Kernersville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsay R. Harrison in 2004 and a brother, Sidney Wayne Sutphin in 2000. Mrs. Harrison is survived by a daughter, Gina Mounce and husband Steve of Walkertown, a son, Kyle Harrison of Walkertown, two grandsons, Cory Mounce and wife Heather of Knoxville, TN and Tyler Mounce of Walkertown, a great-grandson, Preston Reid Mounce, a brother, Rupert Sutphin and wife Maxine of Newberry, SC and a sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Sutphin of Walkertown Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel in Walkertown with entombment to follow. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to; Alzheimer's Association, 545 N.
