WINSTON SALEM-Clara Durham Freeman, 75, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 1, 1934 in Rockingham Co. to the late Edgar and Gertrude Joyce Durham. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She was employed by Hanes Knitting in Winston Salem for many years and then retired from Grass America in Kernersville. Surviving are her husband, William ""Junior"" Harold Freeman, Jr. of the home; her daughter, Angela F. Pruitt and husband, Terry of Walkertown; a granddaughter, Amy Richardson and husband, Todd of Walkertown; two great-grandsons, Ben and Jordan; two brothers, Bob Durham of Walnut Cove, Johnny Durham of Madison; and a sister, Barbara Purdy of Stoneville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00pm Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the funeral home.
