Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Wilson Everhart, a loving Christian mother, passed away on April 10, 2012 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on May 3, 1925 to Arnold and Elizabeth Rucker Wilson. She lived most of her adult life in Winston-Salem. In 1943, she married Clarence Neil Everhart, Sr. She was also married to Paul H. Mabe. She was predeceased by her parents, both her husbands, a sister, Helen Nathey and three brothers, W. J Wilson, Gene Wilson and Arnold Wilson, Jr. Clara retired from Western Electric with 26 years of service. During her career there, she was part of the team who produced the Nike missile. She later was employed and retired from the gift shop at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She loved traveling, bowling, and attending Wake Forest football games and she NEVER met a stranger. However, the love of her life was her family whom she reared with love and whom she leaves to praise her for all she did for them. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Sue Starling of Winston-Salem, four sons, Clarence N. Everhart, Jr. (Judy), of Winston-Salem, Robert E. Everhart (Patsy) of Clemmons, Leroy W. Everhart (Vickie) of Kernersville and Jack D. Everhart (Kathie) of Pinnacle. She is also survived by ten grandchildren who were her pride and joy: Thomas C. Starling, Jr. (Sarah) of Clemmons, Michelle Creech (Kermit) of Winston-Salem, Lane Everhart (Staci) of Lewisville, Ryan Everhart of Winston-Salem, Scott Everhart (Shannon) of Orlando, FL, Casey Melvin (Tim) of Winston-Salem, Travis Everhart (Laci) of Walkertown, Shanese Joyce of Pilot Mountain, David Everhart (Sherie) of Bergman, AR and Justin Everhart (Lisa) of Pinnacle. She was also blessed by her great grandchildren: Ashlyn Creech, Rose, Madison, Mikayla, David, Hana, Sierra, Clara Mae, Blake, Brooke and Cole Everhart and Bryan Joyce. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Shaw of Anaheim, CA, a brother, Keith Wilson (Dolly) of Billerica, MA and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11 at Hayworth-Miller, Silas Creek from 6-8 PM. A service to honor our mother and grandmother will be held on Thursday, April 12 in the chapel of Hayworth-Miller, Silas Creek at 2:00pm with the Rev. Robby Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.
