Mr. Christopher "Chris" Thaddeus Kucab was born on March 5, 1965 in Detroit, Michigan to Thaddeus Kucab and Pamela Reese. He attended Lake City and Cousino High Schools. His aptitude for mechanics and problem-solving led him to a lifelong career in the printing industry in California which led him to North Carolina.
Chris’ strength was an inspiration to his entire family. He gracefully accepted his diagnosis and treatment; not one to be fussed over, Chris never complained even through the final stages of his battle. An avid fisherman, he fished up until the final days of his life. A hobby he fondly learned from his father behind his grandparents’ house on the Clam River in Lake City, Michigan. Chris passed on this knowledge to both of his daughters, as well as his sarcastic sense of humor. His quick wit was always in jest, using his humor to develop relationships with those around him. When Chris married Pam on October 2, 2010, he dedicated himself to creating a well-blended family.
Chris is survived by his parents, Thaddeus (Karen) Kucab and Pamela Reese; in-laws, Ken (Nancy) Stamey; loving wife, Pam; children: Kendall (Brian Gray) Kucab, Danielle (Brett Desrochers) Kucab and Luke (Amanda) Miller; grandchildren: Niko, Nathaniel, Eli, Anders and Ashby; siblings: Dawn (Jeff) Bradley, Theresa (Andy) Monks, Allan (Amy Hepper) Kucab and Phillip (Kory Stamper) Kucab; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private burial service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Morganton, NC. Please send any memorial contributions to Hospice at Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
