Christine Jeffords Conrad

Mrs. Christine Jeffords Conrad, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Kate B. Hospice Home. She was born June 2, 1939 in Forsyth County to Boyd Lee Vaughn and Bertha Leona Arnold Jeffords. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard Edward Conrad. Chris was a fine musician and vocal scholar at Furman University. She and her husband, Richard worked together in church music ministry for over 30 years. She had a special love for flowers, gardening and beautiful things. She loved animals and spent countless hours caring for cats and dogs. She often shared many humorous animal stories across her life. Chris worked with Richard in their family building business and shared her great talent in home décor. Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Christine Conrad of Winston-Salem; two sons, Richard Craig Conrad and wife, Lisa, John Patrick Conrad and wife, Christy, all of Winston-Salem; six special grandchildren, Chrissy Conrad, Evan Conrad, Ian Conrad, Ben Conrad, Brooke Conrad and Emily Conrad; two brothers, Richard Jeffords of Lewisville, Cecil Jeffords of Winston-Salem; and a niece, Nan Latini of Saugatuck, MI. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family has been very blessed to have had incredible love and support from dear family friends; Nan Grimes, Carolyn Hendrix, Marlene Johnson and Rita Deck.
