Christine Broyhill Bangle

Mrs. Christine Broyhill Bangle, 94, passed away January 29, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health's Sticht Center. Christine was born February 8, 1918 to William Calloway Broyhill and Alice Theora Morgan Broyhill in Caldwell County. Christine was a gifted educator who worked as an elementary school teacher until her retirement in 1978. After relocating to Winston-Salem in 1980, she continued active participation in a variety of organizations including Retired Methodist Ministers and Wives Assoc., Women's Club, Music and Book Clubs, and was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Rev. F.W. Dowd Bangle with whom she served numerous congregations and communities within the Western North Carolina Conference of the Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Kathyrn Black; son, William Bangle and his wife, Carol; and granddaughter, Christina. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Ardmore United Methodist Church with Rev. Lisa Tanico officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
