Chris Hillis, 46, passed away on April, 19, 2022. Chris was born on September 11, 1975 in Greensboro, NC to Ed Hillis and Connie Myers Hillis. Chris was the Chief Financial Officer at Vann York Auto Group since February 2021. He previously worked at Asbury Automotive from 2001 to 2021 in Greensboro, Charlottesville, Charlotte, and Greenville SC. Chris had a passion for running which led him to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. There, he ran Cross Country and Track and was part of the 1997 team that won the first ever Conference Championship at UNCW. To continue his love of endurance sports after college, Chris took up cycling and often rode in the Annual Hincapie ride and other cycling events. Chris also enjoyed cheering-on his North Carolina Tar Heels, especially going to games with his family. Chris had a playful imagination and loved sharing his passion for Star Wars and Legos with his son, Caden. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer Survivor and being in remission for ten years. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Paige Young Hillis; son, Caden Hillis; parents, Ed Hillis and Connie Hillis; brother, Brandon Hillis, his wife, Amanda Gabriele, and son, Harvey Hillis; and cousin, Tyler Hillis. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.
