Chester Mack Hill, 87, passed on peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on Friday. He was born November 16, 1933 to the late Samuel and Gladys Hill.
Chester was a hardworking man who valued family above all else. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, spending time with his adoring family and being the bus stop guardian for his two very special great granddaughters (Eva and Lyla). Chester was a man with a tender heart and a soft spot for babies and animals. To know this man was a blessing and an honor. He was selfless and holds a special place in so many hearts. He was an inspiration and loved by many, words will never do him justice.
Along with his parents, Chester is also preceded in death by siblings; William Hill, Joy Dowell and Ann Ferguson.
Survivors include wife Phoebe M. Hill of Belews Creek, daughters; Karen Griffin (Louie), Tina Blackwelder (James), son Garry Hill (Jane), grandchildren; Dale Avery, Clifton Avery, Kari Fortune (Jason), his loving caregiver Lindsay Decker (Jason), Chancey Yonce (Emma) and Kalef Blackwelder, adored great grandchildren; Eva Avery, Lyla Fortune, Grayson Hecht and Atreyu Yonce.
A graveside service for Chester will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July, 29, 2021 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
