Chester Hall, Sr.

Mr. Chester Ray Hall, Sr., 75, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020.  He was born in Ashe County, NC on August 1, 1945.  Chester grew up in Ashe County and had a love of hunting and fishing.  He retired from the city of Winston-Salem and was a member of Friends Baptist Church.  Chester loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were his “prized possessions”.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Parris Hall; and his father, Robert Hall.  Surviving is his mother, Bessie Fearington Hall; daughter, Penny Pegram (Ted); son, Chester Ray Hall, Jr. (Stephanie); four grandchildren,  Curtis Hodges, Jr., Brandy Rhodes (Brandon), Cody Hall (Kayla), and Savannah Sperlazza (Scott); four great-grandchildren, Rylee Rhodes, Reese Rhodes, Larson Sperlazza, and Brody Sperlazza; six siblings, Lenore Darnell (Jay), John Hall, Lou Eva Belcher, Wanda Miller, Bill Hall (Karen), and Loretta Johnson (Randy); numerous nieces and nephews, that include his best friend and hunting partner, Jeff Darnell; and a special friend, Hannah Craig.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Roans Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson, NC with Pastor Darren Osborne officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics of Davidson County, 555-D W.
