Chester Anderson

Mr. Chester Anderson, 96, passed away from this world, into glorious hereafter on May 16, 2018. Chester was born in Surry Co. on September 12, 1921. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Tobaccoville. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife; Gladys Scott Anderson and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by a son, Mike Anderson (Cynthia) of Pinnacle; a daughter, Debbie Carroll (Rick Bryant) of Tobaccoville; grandchildren, Stacey Pettit (Brian), Lori Beth Clifton (Michael), Shane Carroll (Amy Peoples) and Nikki Damon (Evans); great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ashley, Nicoleous and Harper; and one great-great-grandchild, Ellie Mae. He is also survived by a sister, Alene Tilley of Mt. Airy. A graveside service with military rites will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Paul Norman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
