Clemmons – The Lord called Cheryl Renegar Young, 68, home on Friday, March 3, 2023, at her residence. She was born on August 8, 1954 in Forsyth County to Ray and Clorinda Renegar. Cheryl was a 1972 graduate of North Forsyth High School and a 1973 graduate from W.S. Beauty College. She worked in the hair salon business for 13 years and then in the food service industry for 32 years, retiring in 2020. Cheryl loved her Cherokee Casino trips as well as Bingo and bus trips to many places with her friends.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Ada Joyner and her paternal grandparents, Elsie and Pearl Renegar.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Billie E. Young, Jr.; her daughter, Heather Therrell (husband, Zack); grandson, Aden Slater; stepson, Bron Young; sister-in-law, Vickie Young; and her mother-in-law, Minnie Lou Durham. She is also survived by a very special uncle and aunt, Gary and Sylvia Worrell, the Renegar Matriarch to all the Renegar’s; many other aunts, uncles, and cousins; her special canine companion, Zandr; and many special bingo friends and other friends made throughout the years.
A graveside service for Cheryl will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Crestview Memorial Park with Ed Chappel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Cheryl's memory to VFW Post 9010 at P.O. Box 601, Clemmons, NC 27012. This is an organization close to their hearts, as Cheryl rarely missed a Bingo night there. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek is assisting the family.
