Cheryl Sikes Clark

Mrs. Cheryl Sikes Clark, 68, passed away at home on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was born in Mecklenburg County on May 18, 1956, to the late Raymond Lee and Faye Woodcock Sikes. Most of her early life was spent at her family-built home on Lake Norman in the early 60s. She adored being close to the water and relished swimming, boating, and fishing! Cheryl also enjoyed spending time tending to her garden and decorating her home with the unique items she collected. After moving to Winston-Salem, Cheryl built her dream home, worked hard at the family business, and raised her son, Winston. She also became a beacon of love and understanding for many young boys who came to see her as a second mother, a role she cherished deeply. Her husband, Gary, and she spent many love-filled years traveling and enjoying a wonderful life together. She was an active member of the Parrot heads of the Triad, a Jimmy Buffett-themed club active in charity work and rich in friendships. Cheryl's dedication to the club's charity work, her vibrant personality, and her love for the beach were always a source of inspiration. When she had spare time in life, she could always be found at the beach. The power of the water seemed to restore her soul. Surviving is her husband of 30 years, Gary Clark; son, Winston Clark (Brianna); brother, Lindy Sikes (Sharon); sister, Sandy Randall (Mark); also surviving are several nieces and nephews. We will all miss her dearly and always carry our sweet memories of Cheryl with us wherever we go. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Cancer Services, Inc., 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston Salem, NC 27103, or by visiting www.cancerservicesonline.org.
