Cheryl Wooten Austin, 57 years young, was called home to be with our Lord on January 27, 2022. A loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend and mother, she is and will be so very greatly missed.
She was born August 10, 1964, in Winston-Salem to Archie F. Wooten and Carolyn Hayes Blevins. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Irene Wooten; sister, Susan Nichols; and brother-in-law, Keith Aderhold. Cheryl is survived by her mother, along with her sons, William Zachary Goins and Benjamin Adam Austin of Kernersville.
Following graduation from Parkland High School in 1982, she later earned her bachelor’s in communications at Salem College. Cheryl loved to laugh and made it her mission to make others laugh as well. She was a deeply cherished sister of Kristi W. Aderhold of Sherrills Ford, Robin W. Hartman (JD) of Davie County, and Greg Blevins of Kernersville; a much-loved and encouraging aunt to Madelyn Shore (Patrick) and Jackson Hartman; and an adored best friend and life partner to Jay Hodges. We will all treasure our time together with her, and our many precious memories made with her, until we rejoice together again in His presence.
The family will hold a private service to celebrate Cheryl’s life. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Ms. Austin.
