Charlotte Hale Perdue Greene

Walkertown - Charlotte Hale Perdue Greene, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at her home.  She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia to George Bura Hale, Sr. and Nora Elizabeth Wilson Hale. Charlotte retired from AT&T Lucent after 30 years of service. Charlotte was a faithful and loyal member of Kerwin Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher of 38 years. She enjoyed cooking for others, sharing the gospel and friend to all and a stranger to none. Charlotte also loved going for walks outside, working crossword puzzles, and reading her bible.

Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by so many that knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Dewey Richard Perdue; her second husband of 16 years Arzie Greene; and four siblings, George Bura Hale Jr, Edgar Hale, Kathleen Hale Wade and James Beacher Hale.

She is survived by her loving son, Clinton Richard “Rick” Perdue (wife, Christa); two bonus sons, William Jeffery Greene and Darrel Stephen Greene (wife, Alyson); one bonus daughter, Veronica Miller.  Eight grandchildren,

Michala Perdue Rierson (husband, Brodrick), Brandon Lane Perdue, Dakota Shane Phillips (Kaetlyn) Sterling Glyn Phillips (Makenzi), Alexandria Elizabeth Marso (husband, Christopher), Casey Elizabeth Greene, Carson William Greene and Ella Jehn Greene; three great grandchildren, Ashton Christopher Marso, Charleston Grace May Marso and Wretley Shane Phillips; and two siblings, Nevil Hale Bowling and Juanita Hale Shrader (husband R.K.); and special Sister-in-law, Betty Perdue Ramey.

A funeral service for Charlotte will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Kerwin Baptist Church, Myers Auditorium with Pastor Daniel Hawtree officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 11:45 am prior to the service at the church. Entombment will take place following the service at Walkertown Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kerwin Baptist Church at 4520 Old Hollow Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
