Mr. Charlie Monroe Smith, 82, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born September 10, 1942, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late George Rutherford Smith and Bertha Lucinda Smith. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Charlie was known for working hard and his own business, Charlie’s Lawn Mower Shop. He retired from RJ Reynolds after thirty-seven and half years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Derzion. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris Smith; two sons, David Smith (Jennifer) and Matthew Smith (Allison); three grandchildren, Samuel Smith, Sadie Smith, and Aspen Smith; three brothers, Bill Smith, Ray Smith, and George Smith, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3pm Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC with Pastor Steve Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
