Charlie Hampton Johnson, Jr.

East Bend - Charlie Hampton Johnson, Jr., 78, went home to be with The Lord, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Charlie was born on February 5, 1938, in Yadkin County to the late Charlie Hampton Johnson, Sr. and Eva Martin Johnson. He was a veteran of the US Army, worked for RJ Reynolds for many years, and enjoyed gold prospecting. Charlie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Mary Potts Johnson of the home; a daughter, Crystal J. Ridge (David); a son, Andrew Burgess (DeAnne); five grandchildren, Laurelyn Ridge, Jonah, Ian, Max and Benjamin Burgess; two brothers, Billy M. Johnson (Linda) and John Franklin Johnson (Phyllis); nephew, Michael Johnson; nieces, Marcia Johnson, Melody Harvey, and several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. Burial will follow at East Bend Baptist Church.
