Kernersville - Mr. Charlie ""Dale"" Idol, 90, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1918 in Forsyth Co. to the late Gurney A. and Elva A. Teague Idol. Dale was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church overseeing the cemetery for many years. Mr. Idol was very community minded and was a farmer his entire life. He was born, raised and lived on Bunker Hill Farms for his 90 years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian Flynt, and his son-in-law, Jay Grant. Surviving are; his loving wife Mary Glasscoe Idol, three daughters, Judy Hoyle and husband John of Kernersville, Mary Ellen St. Clair of Greensboro, Vickie Grant of High Point, six grandsons, Jonathan Hoyle and wife Kris, Jason Hoyle and wife, Joanna, Justin Hoyle, Jared Hoyle, Jordan Grant, Austin Grant, and one great granddaughter, Katherine Hoyle, one great grandson, Walker Glass. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday at Bunker Hill UMC by Rev. David Rorie. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the memorials may be directed to Bunker Hill UMC @ 1510 Bunker Hill Road Kernersville, NC 27284, or to charity of choice.
