Charles "Chuck" Hughes Cruise

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Hughes Cruise, 59, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

He was born in Malibu, CA on January 24, 1962 to Richard Cruise and Tru Vosburg Cruise.

Chuck retired from the Navy after 20 years of service as a Corpsman. He was a Cub Scout Leader. Chuck loved archery and many types of weapons. In his younger years while living in Malibu, he enjoyed surfing and living the beach life. More recently he enjoyed singing karaoke. On October 23, 2021 he married the love of his life, Mickey. Last but certainly not least, Chuck found much enjoyment from working on their home they had been renovating in Ronda. Everyone who had the privilege to know and love him, will deeply miss him.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Surviving family includes his beloved wife, Mickey Cruise of Ronda, NC; children, Daisy Cruise of California, Nancie Cruise of California, Dakota Cruise of Jacksonville, NC, Kaitlyn Cruise of Jacksonville, NC, Colleen Earnest of Ronda, NC, and Charles Hatfield (Kassie Miller) of Portsmith, VA; grandson, Joseph Hatfield of Portsmith, VA; father, Richard Cruise of Bakersfield, CA; brother, Chip Cruise of Bakersfield, CA; sister, Chris Sales Westerlund of Springfield, OR; nieces, Kelli Hayes of Bend, OR and Melissa Lacasse of Kensington, NH; and nephew, Danny Sales of Springfield, OR.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
