Charles Bahnson "C.B." Greenwood

Mr. Charles Bahnson “CB” Greenwood, 73, passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 19, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born to Zeno Dixon and Mary Sinclair Greenwood on July 19, 1948. CB was a great basketball player for Harmony High School in Iredell County before spending four years on the USS Daniel Webster where he served as a chef on the submarine. After serving in Vietnam, CB sold food in the restaurant industry for more than 30 years and as a natural salesman he turned his customers into friends for life. With a passion for food, he loved cooking for and entertaining his friends and family. He also loved music, golf, Wake Forest sports, and always had a story to tell to anyone that would hear it.  If you walked into a room and heard laughter you would always find CB in the middle, the one making everyone laugh.  In addition to his sense of humor, he was known for his wittiness and dignity, which he will be forever remembered for.

Above everything, CB loved his family more than anything and always put them first. CB was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, George Hucks, and sister-in-law, Barbara Priemer. Surviving are his brothers, Mike (Linda), Bob, Brian (Susanne), Zeno “Dick” (Anita), and sister, Mary Walker (Herman) and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Susie Hucks; brother-in-law, Keith Hucks; his wife, Pat; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Ben Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and April Greenwood; and grandsons, Mac and Win. A private celebration of life will be held at the family residence. CB chose to donate his whole body to the Anatomical Resource Clinical Training Center at Wake Forest School of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in CB’s memory to: Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation, specifically the Heart and Vascular or Oncology departments, 1701 S. Hawthorne Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27103, www.supportnovanthealth.org.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Greenwood.
