Charles Douglas Woodlief

Mr. Charles Douglas Woodlief, 70, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born October 27, 1938 in High Point to William Brooks and Mary Lou Tomlinson Woodlief. Mr. Woodlief graduated from Randleman High School in 1956 and graduated from High Point College in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of Home Moravian Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bluff Park, Alabama. He retired from Volvo Heavy Truck Corporation with 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his loving wife of 47 years, Ione H. Woodlief of the home; two daughters, Susan Busch and husband Jeff of Atlanta, GA and Lynne Winkler and husband Matt of Portland, OR; four grandsons, Austin and Garrett Busch, Adam and Luke Winkler. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Home Moravian Church, 529 S.
