Charles Whitley

Mr. Charles Richard Whitley, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2022. He was born in Forsyth County on June 23, 1934, to the late Jeff David Whitley and Nettie Lee Whitley. He graduated from Hanes High School in the Class of 1953. Charles worked for R.J. Reynolds from 1963 till the time he retired in his late 50’s. He loved to travel frequently with his wife Donna and as a couple would constantly be going out to dinner with friends. You could always hear him saying “it burns me up.” One hobby that Charles would always enjoy was his model cars and trains. A fond memory the family will always cherish was the beach trip Charles and his daughters took after losing their dear mother Donna. Another memory the family will never forget was when his granddaughter Taylor was growing up and he would always buy her the things her dad would never allow. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Alspaugh Whitley. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Susan Holcomb and Sandra Brower (Michael); grandchildren, Taylor Holcomb, Noah Brower, and Davis Brower.
