KERNERSVILLE - Charles Iverson ""C.I."" Warren, Jr., 88, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Kernersville Medical Center. He was born April 11, 1924 in Forsyth Co. to the late Charles Iverson Warren, Sr. and Cassie Williard Warren. C.I. was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville. He was a WWII United States Army veteran, recipient of the Silver Star Medal and a retiree of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. C.I. loved to farm and hunt. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Ingram Warren; and a brother, Williard Waldo ""Bud"" Warren. Surviving are his son, Leon Warren of Albemarle; two daughters, Vera Griffeth and husband, James of Burlington, Treva Hartwig and husband, Ron of Winston Salem; two granddaughters, Angela Thomas and husband, Jon of Knoxville, TN, Gina Griffeth of Arizona; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ashlyn and Josiah Thomas. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville with Dr. Jeff Patterson, Rev. Rick Carter, and Rev. Dale Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor. A committal service will be conducted at 10:00 Monday, April 16, 2012 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Warren family.
