Charles Plummer VanHoy

WALNUT COVE - Mr. Charles Plummer VanHoy, 99, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Walnut Cove Healthcare Center. Charles was born on February 21, 1913 to the late Charles Thomas and Lilly Frances Carmichael VanHoy. He was self-employed as a paint contractor and a life-long member of Love's United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir as long as his health permitted. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Davis VanHoy; one son, Charles VanHoy; and a sister, Evelyn VanHoy. Surviving are his daughter, Loretta Angel Reeves (Dave); two grandchildren, Marta Lyon (Brad) and Jeff P. Angel; two great grandchildren, Alexis and Sydney Angel; a special nephew, Virgil Davis (Tamara) and special niece, April Dawn Davis. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Love's United Methodist Church with Sybil Parks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Love's United Methodist Church, 3020 Main Street, Walkertown, NC, 27051. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. The family extends a special Thank You to the staff at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of Charles during his residency.
