Charles Edward Taylor, Jr. a loving Husband, Daddy, and Paw Paw, had his home going on January 7, 2010 after a short illness with Lung Cancer. He was the eldest son of the late Charles Edward Taylor, Sr. and Kathleen Davis Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, a brother, Jack Davis Taylor, and a sister, Lois Taylor Sink. He retired from RJ Reynolds as a truck driver. He loved family vacations to the beach or the mountains. He enjoyed all types of music and could be heard singing in the car on all of the family vacations or just driving around town. He attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Winston Salem, where he was the Sunday School Superintendant for a period of time, and he sang in the church choir. He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Doris W. Taylor of the home, his sweetheart since youth, 5 Children; Charles E. Taylor III (Margaret), Jeffrey W. Taylor (Cathy), Steven B. Taylor of the home, Ricky L. Taylor and Kathryn Taylor Hines (Dwayne). Four siblings: Helen, Shirley and John Taylor, and Phyllis Taylor Church (Bill). Five grandchildren: Jennifer Taylor Jacques (Brent), Suzanne Taylor VanWeerdhuizen (Damond), Julie Hines Dagenhardt (Tyler), Ryan Hines, and Hailey Taylor. He was also blessed with 7 Great Grandchildren: Mason and Madison VanWeerdhuizen, J.P. , Allie, Ethan Dagenhardt, Grant and Leighton Jacques and many nieces and nephews that he loved. The family will receive friends and family at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel from 6pm - 8pm Saturday, January 9, 2010. The Reverends' Tim Wolfe and Don Sigmon will officiate the service to be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Following the chapel service, interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if you would like, you may make donations to the Hospice Home of Winston-Salem. The family would like to thank Hospice of Winston Salem, for all the wonderful care he received. ""Daddy, we will meet you at the Eastern Gate.""
