Charles James Swift Sr., 70 of Winston-Salem passed away unexpectedly Saturday February 6, 2010 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law. Mr. Swift was born January 31, 1940 in Lenoir, NC to William James Swift and Geneva Aldridge Swift. Mr. Swift was retired from Charlie's Appliance Repair. He was Self employed in Appliance Repair for 32 Years, in Kernersville, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Billie Jean Swift and Step Father John Jackson Frogg (Jack), which he loved just like a Father. He is survived by his wife Patricia Gallimore Swift; a son Charles Jr. (Kathy); two daughters Terri Ann Swift Newman, and Donna Kay Swift Mabe (Jeff); one step son he loved him like he was his own Dustin Ray Pearson (April); two brothers Herman Melton Swift (Norma) Kernersville, NC and the late Roy Kenneth Swift (Sandra); Winston-Salem; 1 granddaughter, Jennifer Jolie Newman Miller (Craig) 6 step granddaughters Valerie Louise Smith (Derek), Sarah May-Starr Smith, Tracy Lynn Smith, Jessica Joann Mabe Parsons (Marcus) and Tiffani Michelle Mabe (Scooter), Hailey Michelle Thompson; and one step grandson, Noah Ray Pearson; three great-grandsons, Austin Charles Roberson, Jacob Walter Johnson, Zachariah Douglas Parsons; and one great granddaughter, Zoe Peyton Parsons; special nephew (Randy) Kenneth Randall Swift he loved like his own son, and his good friend Bobby Sutphin. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Hayworth-miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
