Mr. Charles Neal Stewart, Sr., 80, of Winston-Salem went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 11, 2010. He was born August 5, 1930 in Davidson County, the son of the late Lester Eugene and Nona Yountz Stewart. He served two terms with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He loved the Lord, gardening, making bird houses, canning preserves and serving others. Mr. Stewart retired from Bassick-Sack as a general manager and was an active member of Rural Hall Church of God where he loved his church family and all the children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Jane Norman Stewart and by three brothers, Billy Gene Stewart, Robert Edward Stewart, and Alan Lester Stewart and by one sister, Lois Stewart Martin. Survivors, include his loving wife, Vickie L. Stewart and her son, Larry Moore, Jr. serving in the U.S. Air Force; son, Charles Neal Stewart, Jr. and wife Susan of Knoxville, TN and grandson Nathan; daughter, Lynda Stewart Hall and husband Richard Hall of Pfafftown and two grandsons Alec and Andy and one granddaughter, Ashley; also surviving are his two buddies, Sarah and Bobby Cranfill of Advance; three brothers, Tony Dean Stewart and wife Linda, Jimmy Roger Stewart of Winston-Salem, and Zane Gray Stewart and wife Louise of Lewisville; two sisters, Carol Stewart Branch and Nancy Stewart Hopkins of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Hudson officiating.
