Charles "Chuck" R. Snyder

Mr. Charles R. ""Chuck"" Snyder, 61, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born August 2, 1953 in Welch, West Virginia to Charles Robert and Virgie Brunty Snyder. Mr. Snyder was of the Methodist faith. He loved the outdoors and was an avid reader. He enjoyed music, playing guitars and mandolin, and was an animal lover, especially cats. Mr. Snyder was an accomplished chef. He also loved to hunt and fish, and loved West Virginia. He cared for the homeless and was on the National Board of Coalition. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his mother, Virgie Snyder of Winston-Salem; one brother, Keith Snyder and wife Tammy of Mocksville; one sister, Katrina Blankenship and husband Randy of Beckley, West Virginia; two nieces; three great nieces and nephews; and his special four legged critters that he loved so much. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Park. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
