Kernersville – Mr. Charles Lindon “Snookie” Hubbard, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2025, at his residence. He was born on January 29, 1928, in Forsyth County to George Allen and Bertha Holbrook Hubbard. Snookie was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. He retired from AT&T after over 35 years of faithful service. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Kernersville Wesleyan Church. Snookie enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and in his younger days, he enjoyed watching and playing baseball. He also enjoyed going for walks every day as he was able. He loved to take his wife shopping. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Snookie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Johnsie Hubbard; and seven siblings.
He is survived by his son, Tim C. Hubbard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Snookie will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Don Martin Pastor Leon Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
