Charles William 'Bill' Saunders

Mr. Charles William ""Bill"" Saunders, 70, of Advance passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Brunswick Medical Center. Mr. Saunders was born in Rockingham, NC on January 20, 1943 to James Albert and Anna Lee Player Saunders. He was a graduate of Wake Forest College and retired from Tuscarora Yarns in the sales and marketing department. Mr. Saunders was an active member of Macedonia Moravian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean Clack Saunders; two daughters, Raymonda Shelton and husband Con of Mocksville, and Camella Herrin and husband Jim of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Haynes and Hunt Shelton, and Ashley Herrin; three sisters, Betty Matheson of Mt. Gilead; Bobbie Monroe of Rockingham; and Lynn Wilcox of Cary; two nieces, and two nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Macedonia Moravian Church with the Rev. Jeff Carter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. A private burial will be held.
