Mr. Charles Bascom Robinson, Jr., passed away Monday evening July 28, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Orange County, NC on October 1, 1930, to the late Charles Robinson, Sr., and Alice Fowler Robinson. ""Sailor"" as he was known to many of his friends, was the kind of friend that you would want to have. He was also a good dad, one that let you make your own way, unless you asked for his advice. Then you would get the kind of advice that comes from personal experience from someone that is well traveled and wise beyond his years. He took care of our sick mother for many years, took on stray cats and lived a full life. He played golf into his 80s and routinely shot better than his age. He would not want any of us to mourn his passing, for he got the most out of every day. We will miss him terribly. Rest in peace Sailor, for your watch is over. C.B. was preceded in death by his wife Faye and son Paul Robinson. He is survived by his children Charles Robinson III, of Lewisville, Beverly Robinson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Samuel Robinson of Carthage, NC, Mark Robinson of Winston-Salem, and Cynthia Heiderscheit of Winston-Salem. A Wake will be held on Saturday, August 9, from 4-7 PM at the family home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
