Charles David Rivers

Charles David Rivers, 83, of Kernersville, NC passed away on July 3, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.

He was born on May 24, 1940, to Albert and Lucille Rivers of Reidsville, NC. Upon his graduation from Reidsville High School in 1958, he enlisted in the United States' Army for four years as a paratrooper in the 82nd Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and in the 101st Division in Mantz, Germany.

After his military service he married the love of his life, Betty F. Rivers, on April 25, 1964. He was employed by Kelly Springfield Tire Company and later as a national accounts manager for Pilot Freight Trucking and Old Dominion Freight Company.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert and Lucille Rivers. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty F. Rivers of Kernersville, NC, his son Wesley Rivers (Wanda) of Indian Trail, NC, his sister Kay Diehl of Reidsville, NC, and his sister-in-law Tennia Auten of Kannapolis, NC.

By his family's request there will be no formal service but instead a family gathering to honor his life at a future time
