Charles Owen Porter

Mr. Charles Owen Porter, 54, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2016.

Charles was born June 30, 1961 in Forsyth County to John Louis Porter, Sr. and Jane McGirt Porter. He was a Boy Scout and at the age of 10, joined Reynolda Presbyterian Church. Charles graduated from North Forsyth High School and received an Associate Degree from the College of the Canyons in California, where he lived for several years and owned several businesses and worked as a Realtor. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, where he could hunt and fish, and also did woodworking. Charles was preceded in death by his father.

Charles is survived by his mother, Jane McGirt Porter; brothers, John, Jr. and Chris Porter (Betsy); and nieces, Kate and Elizabeth Porter.

A celebration of Charles's life will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2 pm at Reynolda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Wright officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
