Charles Allen McGee, Sr.

KERNERSVILLE-Charles Allen McGee, Sr., 87, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who adored his family passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Kernersville Medical Center. He was born January 24, 1928 in Stokes Co. to the late Walter Gray and Garnet May McGee. Charles was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Western Electric after several years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Gray McGee, Jr. and James McGee; sisters, Doris Rockett, Esther Hicks Brown, Catherine Ratledge, Sarah Redmon, Sue Belton and Nellie Hestwood. Surviving are his son, Charles A. McGee Jr., and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Justin Andrew McGee and wife, Mandy and Erin Elizabeth Campbell and husband, Joey; great-grandchildren, Braylin Hope McGee and Emma Elizabeth Campbell; sister, Ruth Simpson and several nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Mt. Gur Cemetery with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
