Charles Mcdaniel

WALKERTOWN - Charles Elwood McDaniel, 84, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at his home. Charles was born on July 18, 1933 in Forsyth County to John Henry and Pauline Teague McDaniel. Charles loved the Lord, his family and his church. He served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher at Walkertown First Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and piddling around the house. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, John Henry McDaniel, Jr., and Leonard Manuel McDaniel. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mary Frances Hauser McDaniel; one daughter, Charlene McDaniel Owens (husband, Kim); two grandsons, William McDaniel Owens (wife, Christa), and Samuel Worth Owens; one sister Dorothy Foster; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Walkertown First Baptist Church with Rev. Philip Crouse Jr. and Rev. Ray Benfield officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Walkertown First Baptist Church, 5185 Sullivantown Road, Walkertown, NC 27051. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
