Mr. Charles Howard Kilby, 68, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Wilkes County on June 4, 1947 to Howard Warren and Ruthaline Westmoreland Kilby. Mr. Kilby was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during Vietnam. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 14 years of service. He enjoyed astronomy, reading, computers, and music. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Katherine Ellis Kilby; three daughters, Karen Wells (Danny) of Mocksville, Karla Ayers (Chris) of Denver, NC, and Amy Myers (Mike) of Advance; three grandchildren, Katie, Colton, and Caleb; two sisters, Kay Adams (David) of Wilkesboro and Creola Smith of Savannah, GA; also surviving are 7 half brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Davie County, 291 Eaton Rd., Mocksville, NC 27028.
